Is Phillips leadership material?

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I'm a supporter of the People's National Party (PNP), but I don't see how the party will ever regain power with its current leadership, organisational structure and current crop of candidates.

I admit that I was a quick supporter of Peter Phillips as leader. I was impressed by his message of an inclusive and fair Jamaica. I truly felt that he was ready to bring the party into the 21st century with renewal. Nothing seems to have changed. Nothing.

Now I'm thinking that whereas Peter may be a very good implementer (a Mr Fix-it), he may not have all it takes to run for prime minister. I say this thinking about the opposite side. In look and feel alone, the Jamaica Labour Party looks more palatable than the PNP.
